This year, a special innovation awaits you at the Duisburg Christmas market: instead of a classic ice rink, there will be a modern plastic rink for the first time. It stands for sustainability, saves valuable energy and protects the environment – without sacrificing the usual fun of ice skating. Look forward to pure skating pleasure with a clear conscience!

Experience the fun of ice skating on our modern synthetic ice rink – without any real ice, but with a guaranteed winter atmosphere!
To ensure that all guests have an enjoyable ice skating experience, there may be short waiting times during busy periods. Thank you for your understanding.
Changing area & storage
There is a cosy changing area right next to the rink where you can comfortably put on and take off your ice skates.
Please note: There are no lockers, only open shelves for storing bags and shoes. We therefore recommend that you always keep your valuables on your person.
Accessibility
Our ice rink is wheelchair accessible and has a wheelchair ramp, so that all visitors can enjoy the winter fun.
Ice skates & service
You can use your own skates on the synthetic ice rink – special blades are not required. If you do not have your own skates, you are welcome to hire a pair on site. Please note that a deposit is required for this, for example in the form of an ID card, driving licence or key.
Ice skate sharpening service
To ensure you glide smoothly across the ice, we offer a skate sharpening service on site for a small fee.
Rules of Conduct
1. Access & Use
Access only with a valid ticket and skates, use at your own risk, children & beginners only under supervision.
2. Safety & Consideration
Wear gloves – risk of injury, no running, tag, pushing, or shoving, get up immediately after a fall, no objects (bags, drinks, etc.) on the ice, headphones prohibited – announcements must remain audible.
3. Behavior on the Ice
Ice maintenance: leave the ice immediately, do not sit or lie on the ice, follow staff instructions.
4. General Guidelines
No alcohol or drugs, keep emergency exits clear, photography allowed as long as no one is disturbed, no liability for loss or damage without fault, parents are responsible for their children, report accidents immediately.

School sports on the ice
How about school sports on the ice at the Christmas market? As in previous years, we are offering schoolchildren the opportunity to use the synthetic ice rink at the Duisburg Christmas market during school hours.
School classes can register for their desired ice skating time exclusively from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. at events@duisburgkontor.de. Admission: €2 per person and skate hire: €2 per pair. Transport on DVG buses and trains is free of charge.

Winter fun for everyone – fun, team spirit and excitement are the focus on the synthetic ice stock rink. The weather-independent rink provides a real winter feeling – without any ice or cold feet.

Refreshments are of course also available: right next to the railway, you will find a selection of catering options offering winter classics and hot drinks. Enjoy mulled wine, soft drinks or a freshly tapped beer in a cosy atmosphere. Small snacks and hearty meals also invite you to linger and warm up – perfect for a break between two rounds on the ice. Toilets are available nearby, so you can enjoy a comfortable visit from start to finish.
